Rightousness By Faith

The Bible says God declares you righteous when you trust in Christ’s saving achievements for your salvation. This is the heart of the Gospel. Knowing this fact is the greatest stimulus to obey God. Why do some church-goers resist righteousness by faith? Here are some reasons: (i) spiritual pride makes them think they can contribute something to salvation. (ii) they view the Gospel as a threat to the observance of law. (iii) they consider the simple Gospel as ‘cheap grace’ that leads to a cavalier attitude to sin.
