Salvation

All God requires from us has already been accomplished by Jesus Christ. When we believe in Him, are willing to turn from sin and accept His free offer of salvation, all His accomplishments are credited to us. This is righteousness by faith, the heart of the Gospel. Click here for details.

Obedience

The greatest stimulus to obedience is to know the certainty of our salvation. The Gospel produces a heart set on obedience.

The Ten Commandments are eternal and binding on all Christians as a standard of conduct but not as a means of salvation. The Christian who willfully disobeys while claiming salvation is presumptuous and puts his salvation at risk because the attitude tends towards silencing the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Obedience is an outward sign of a right relationship with God. It is not the purchase price of a right standing with God. Click here for details.

Sanctification and Justification

Sanctification is Christ’s work in us. Justification is Christ’s work for us. Sanctification is righteousness imparted, inside us but not perfect. Justification is righteousness imputed, outside us and 100% perfect. Justification saves us. Sanctification as the fruit of justification saves others when they see in us the outward fruit of salvation in the life we lead. Click here for details.

Bible

The Bible is God’s inspired word and an all-sufficient authority to govern saving belief. All Bible truth relates to Jesus Christ, His uniqueness as Savior and His sufficiency as Lord of all. Click here for details.

The Bible Sabbath

The Bible Sabbath is the 7th day. It goes back to Creation, well before the Jewish nation. It is a memorial of re-creation through salvation in Jesus. Jesus kept the Sabbath in life and death. After the crucifixion the disciples kept the Sabbath. Although man later changed it from Saturday to Sunday, it is a command of God and deserves respect. It is a test day because outwardly it seems trivial. Click here for details.

Asleep In Death

Only God is immortal. We do not possess an immortal soul. At Creation God’s breath and the dust of the ground produced a soul. This is reversed when we die: our breath returns to God and our body goes to dust. Death is a sleep. See John 11:11-14. When Jesus returns God breathes life into our bodies and we are resurrected. This Bible truth is crucial—it saves us from the deceptions of spiritualism and so-called ‘communication with the dead’ phenomena that will flourish in the last days. Click here for details.

Eternal Hell Fire

A God who forever torments by fire those who reject Him is not a loving God but a devil. The Bible does not teach that hell is a place of un-ending fiery torment. Sodom and Gomorrah were punished with “eternal” fire but that smoke went out a long time ago. The Bible teaches that those who reject God’s offer of mercy will be exterminated. The Last Days

The last days began after the crucifixion but have come into increasingly sharper focus in recent decades. Today’s world conditions match the signs Jesus said would signal His return. No one knows when He will return. We are to remain in a constant state of readiness through continuing trust in Christ. Christians waiting for the return of Jesus are commandment-keepers and have the faith of Jesus. See Revelation 14:12. Click here for details
